With the large increases that we are seeing in rental prices, many cities and counties are trying to find ways to protect the tenant’s in their municipalities. We are seeing more and more discussion over what controls should be put into place.
Are you staying up to date with the proposals in your area? Are you providing feedback? I know it’s easy to get focused on our business, but we can’t overlook these rules and then complain if something passes that we don’t like. Get involved with your local REIAs and write to those in charge at City Council and County Commission with your feedback.

Get Involved w/ Rent Control and Other Legislation Before It’s Passed
Don’t wait until things are passed and then complain. Get involved now. Stay educated. Connect with your local REIA groups. Let your City Councils and County Commissioners know how you feel. And when you can, provide solutions to the problem that may not have been proposed.
